Nestlé
Why most of these never reach an American shelf
Nestlé's British range barely overlaps with what the company sells in America. Aero, Lion, Milkybar and Smarties are made for British shelves, and most of them have never had an American edition at all.
Smarties are the ones that catch people out. In the United States that name belongs to a different company entirely, and it means small tart sugar tablets. The British Smarties are milk chocolate in crisp colored shells, sold in a hexagonal tube. Same word, nothing else in common.
Nestlé stopped making chocolate in America in 2018, when it sold that side of the business to Ferrero. The bars in this collection come from the other side of that line, and always did.
Everything here comes from the UK, in date, packed by hand, and sent anywhere in the United States.
